Feline Chronic Gingivostomatitis

Feline Chronic Gingivostomatitis (FCGS)

FCGS is a disease of the oral cavity in which the immune system overreacts to plaque on the teeth. Although the symptoms may improve with medical therapy, full or partial mouth extractions provide the best chance of resolution of the clinical signs. Some cats require long-term medication (immunosuppressive and pain medications) after surgery to remain comfortable.
